So I'm looking to change my stock (after the headder) y pipe. Its old. I see hooker makes a y pipe for c4s is there a difference in size?should I go larger?
Do you have precats in your set up now? If not and you have hooker headers their y pipe will work fine. No need to go larger unless you have gone big on engine mods pushing a bunch more air than stock. TPIS sells a y pipe as well....one is a bolt in right to the large main cat. The other has a straight end no flange.

Thanks for the info!
I have one cat which im going to delete, whats the stock size for the y-pipe?

I assume you mean the main cat? If your 90 is like my 88 be aware it has a line back to the air pump that will have to be removed as well. Then you'll need one of these to replace it unless you plan on a custom exhaust system.
Yea my cat has the line too; I plugged it up. I'm not so worried about deleting the cat, I'm just wondering what my stock y pipe size is and if I get a hooker y pipe that might (be larger) if it'll improve anything, if not where can I get a new old stock pipe?
Is your engine stock? Close to stock? Do you have shorty headers, long tube headers or stock exhaust? If LTH headers then you or a PO modified the stock exhaust to connect to long tube headers. If you have shorty headers or stock exhaust manifolds don't waste your money on a new stock y pipe especially if the cats have already been cut out or gutted.

The stock y-pipe is 2.25". Aftermarket Y-pipes HAVE been available in a larger 2.5" diameter. I thought it was worth it.
Before I built my 383, I had 2.5" front to back (except the stock manifolds) on a 350. I had glass packs, main magnaflow cat, and dual slash cut 3" tips. The sound was perfect and performance SEEMED better than stock...not much but a bit.
If you're looking for a bump in performance, there are more economical ways...but if sound/looks are part of the goal, I recommend it.
Thanks GregPenn, you've always helped me on a thread! I don't really know if I should spend 200 bucks for a larger y pipe, or get one made or buy one like I have on now. And I have long tube headders

It's pretty rare for someone with longtubes to stick with the stock 2 1/4" piping. If you're going to buy new pipe anyway, the large 2.5" size won't hurt you, should help you, and will allow more room for modification.
