Ok, I think I need a new reverse switch (the one on the side of the tranny). But when I called a dealership, they told me it would be $200 Canadian. ($130.00 US). Is that right   Thats stupid expensive! And the nearest one from the west coast is in Ontario!
If you have the part number try Jeff Kopp over at Superior Chevy. He has gotten me parts at less than half the price shipped. I'm sure someone here has a phone number. If not drop me an e-mail and I'll find it for you.
I believe the part number you need is GM PN 10159402.My switch works whenever it wants to... I plan on attemping to clean the ball bearing on the end of the switch before I buy a new one. If you have a copy of the April 2002 Corvette fever magazine on page 69 there is a picture of what the switch looks like and a brief description of the replacement procedure. Good luck.
Mine was replaced under warranty. They got some bad ones (in 94 anyway) from the original mfr. See if they can replace yours for free if its original. 130 bucks. Its a vette not &**$ porsche.
I probably should have called Rick, but I am on a deadline to get an inspection for the car or it gets deported back to the states:( , so I grabbed it from the first place I could.
