........ I can't tell you whether or not all MSD Opti's were vented ... but it would only make sense ....... anyway ... if yours has two vacuum hoses attached , then it IS vented .......... as I recall one hose would be around 3 o'clock the other at six ..........
Had an MSD on my '94 which was vented. Check the air intake hose to see if there is vacuum hose. Put mine in the air intake just before the throttle body. You could check on the MSD web site as well to see if the '92 opti is vented. I'm pretty sure it is vented.
My 92 LT1 did not have a vented oem OPTI from the factory. I think GM changed to a vented design in 1995. When I removed my A/C Delco OPTI it looked like it came off of a reef. I installed a MSD OPTI because they come with a vented design even for the early LT1 engines.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I went to take another look at it this morning. I noticed a vacuum hose coming up from the optispark that was sitting near the intake but it is not connected to anything. Is this the norm or should there be a connection somewhere?
