Just bought a 91 Corvette... 1 week later I get a SES light code 43... the light came on a couple of times and turned off, but now its on longer. The engine has no power, but sometimes it does. I though it was the spark plugs being loose but they seem fine. What do you guys think?
Knock sensor is a really annoying code. Chances areit is an electric grimlin. Very difficult to track because its intermittent. I would start by seeing if you can get the car running without the code then jostle the wire harness for the sensor. If that doesn't then find a sensor that works from someone parting their car out and replace. If that doesn't work I would take a tooth pick and push all the wires in their slots in the harness (ecm & sensor) to make sure good connection and then start running bypass wires and if that fixes problem then make them permanent.
I've had this problem before and its not fun... its like a maf and can be other stuff too.
