Drive shaft issues
I have an 85 corvette with 96,000 miles on it. When I'm driving it and I press the gas in first and second gear it clunks a few times before it gets going right. Also at around 60 mph you can start to feel it shake and it gets noticeably worse above that speed. I have put it up on a lift and tried jiggling around the U-joints by hand but didn't feel any play. I know that the previous owner did quite a few burnouts in it. Does this sound like a U-Joint problem or something else?

To check the ujoints, you won't find much by jiggling them by hand. With the car in the air, put it in park and with the brake off, move the tires back and forth and look for play in each of the joints.

You may also need to use a long bar screw driver or bar to "expose" the play.
Look for any sign of rust dust coming from under the bearing seals as well.
