Hey quick question yall, i have a chance to purchase a complete mini ram kit with less than 1000 miles on it. It has injectors, rails, everything. I have a 1987 corvette with a new zz4 383. I have Stock L98 factory aluminum heads, but have been machined for better flow...etc.stock tpi intake..but the bottom end of this motor is built well. The tpi i think is choking the engine down from its potential power. I think the mini ram is a good choice, especially at the price i can get it. HERE IS THE QUESTION...the mini ram is off of a third gen camaro, the camaro had a 406 in it. Will the mini ram off the third gen camaro, fit my c4 vette??? Will the rails, mounts all that be similar enough for it too work? and will the intake holes match my intake holes?? Any advice and imput is welcome, thanks.
or cheaper to do a custom fuel line install like done with a HSR install
I see a lot of talk about that TPIS Mini Ram. Wouldn't it kill off your low end torque with those short runners? I know it let's you turn higher rpm's as it doesn't run out of breath at 4500 like the TPI does. I have to wonder how high i would be reving a 383 on the street. Are you running one?

Good Article. I noticed they have the labels on the graphs reversed on the comparison. That MR is impressive in that although it produced 50 less in torque it pulled hard and consistent throughout the rpm range. I didn't expect that.

Reason: error
if its the 1204 version, it will fit?
what if its the 1206?
Either version fits fine
Just that a 1206 port on your stock 1204 port heads will mean there is a undesirable lip on the join between the larger hole in the intake and the smaller hole in the head and
IIRC a L98 /ZZ4 head can't be ported out to the 1206 size to match up

Absolutely not. My car 60's the same with a mini as it did with long tube runners.

It certainly is a cleaner easier to maintain system than a TPI. I'm pretty sure i have a vacuum leak on mine i'll need to track down. Never seen so many bolts and gaskets on an intake system in my life.

So would a 1206 work with the heads? you would just have the lip?
With a proper Torque convertor, there will be no loss of low end torque.
Vic
Torque Converter doesn't build or maintain torque, they allow the car to stay/be in the meat of a torque curve during shifts. Basically, you'll be able to make better use of the torque that your engine pulls.
The Mini-Ram will lose some low-end torque but it won't be noticed so much on the street. A gear change (3.42's or 3.73's) will go a long way towards giving back what the shorter runners take away.
thanks for the imput guys, i contacted my speed shop and they said that they could make the mini ram work regardless of the model with the right fabrications. So to say the least, im excited for the upgrade from tpi, to MINI RAM hahahaha
