Don't have the wheel key to remove center cap on my stock wheels, nor do any of the local tire shops.. Have a stuck caliper on front and need to remove wheel. Anyway to do it without ruining wheel?
i dont know how you would find the correct key, but you might try to cut a slot in it to accept a screwdriver. or drill a hole in it and use a easyout. you might get lucky and spin it backwards with a punch on one of the ridges to back it out by hand. any of these attempts will ruin the bolt but they can be replaced with a matching key for the new set.
McGard made the 88-89 puzzle locks for GM. Contact their
customer service and explain your problem. You can
e-mail or make a tracing of the shape of the puzzle
lock and they will for a small fee send you the correct
key.
I did like the first person said. I lost my key so I cut slots in them and used a flat head screwdriver to get them out. Then I eventually bought new keys and locks.
