Default Mini ram/tuning etc...

Hey everyone. The forum has greatly helped me out so far, so I have another question. Im going to try and keep it short and sweet. I have a 383 in my vette. Ive been running the stock tpi intake, tbi, injectors, etc. I have a chip from PCMforless set up for that. The car has ran as good as possible with the tpi so now I am going to be taking that old intake off and am replacing it with a mini ram, a 58mm BBK throttle body, and 30lb injectors. All the parts are from TPIS. I am also wanting to go with a new aftermarket distributor. Here are my questions, the chip i have is perfectly matched with everything, DOES IT NEED TO BE REFLASHED WITH THE MINIRAM,INJECTOR, AND TB SWAP? OR IS IT FINE..my next question is..WHAT DISTRIBUTOR SHOULD I GO WITH? I am so close with having this car where I want it. Any advice is welcome. Thank you!!

Summarized, will the intake swap make that big of a difference with the tune of the chip? I know the flow of that intake setup is 1100cfm. also, i cant get the car tuned at any shop around here. they only tune ls engines, so im depending on my chip, the timing as close as i can get it, and a perfectly set distributor that fires nice.

If you're changing the injector size you will definitely need a new tune.

Lil confusing. you state you have stock TBI injectors. And TPI. The tune from PCM4less is on your previous setup. It was a 383?
So you now have a 383 mini ram. 30# inj. What is your compression? Cam? Other parts. Your going to need a updated tune. More flow, higher RPM, much more fuel.

I tuned my MR setup and it's very different from the other intakes I had on for the tune. You will for sure need a tune and data logging (an off the shelf guess tune might be enough for you but I wouldn't do that) or a dyno tune. I still use the stock dizzy as it's pretty good.

my engine has been a 383, I meant to say stock tb, not tbi. I have all cam specs and head info, etc. I think im just gonna send all the info back to pcm with my chip and get a complete reflash. i will then test the car out and see how it runs and take it too the speed shop so they can tune it as close as possible. WHAT KIND OF AFTERMARKET DISTRIBUTORS DO YALL RUN? thanks everyone.

If there's nothing wrong with the stock distributor, leave it alone and spend the money elsewhere. A new distributor won't give you any better performance. I did have to replace mine. I used a DUI (Davis Unified Ignition). It's a family owned shop that has great customer service.

If I were you I would poke around in the tuning section and get yourself setup to datalog. This is what I did. Then you can send the datalog to PCMforless and give them a much better picture of the changes they need to make to your chip.

I just went from a SuperRam to a miniram. You'll need less fuel low to midrange rpms and more fuel on top. You can also bump the timing up a couple of degrees on top.
