I'm removing the pump n opti, at the point of the crank pulley now. cant loosen the bolts because the dam thing keeps turning. how do i stop it from turning loosening the bolts, or I'm turning the wrong way??
Hi my friend. I change my harmonic balancer abour a year ago.. first you have to stop the motor from turning.
the easy way for me was to stop the number one piston, by using a top dead center tool.
at the time I did not had this tool so i use the rope method. that consist, by introducing a rope into tho the number one cylinder into stop, at that point the engine is lock, and you can remove the bolt on the harmonick balancer.
Is it in gear ? are the rear wheels on the ground? is the parking brake set ? usually thats enough to lock up the drivetrain / engine and prevent the crankshaft from turning.
