The boot is attached to the bottom of the center console top plate with 4 screws.
You need to remove the center dash bezel to get the center console plate out.
To get the center dash bezel out you need to remove the instrument cluster bezel.

It's true.
I'm also wondering about the necessity of removing the PS dash (breadbox) too? I can't remember if that pieces also overlaps the center A/C bezel.
And, of course, the A/C bezel overlaps the center console bezel (at the bottom/front -- where those two intersect.
No way around this. If you try and pull the A/C bezel out far enough, I bet you could break it.
It's an intricate web the C4 weaves!
I was intimately familiar with all this because I just put mine back together a few days ago after installing HushMat.
