1988 fuel pump

Does anybody make a fuel pump that might be a step up from stock that is a direct replacement that needs no modification?

Racetronics makes pumps that handle more volume, but unless you have done mods to your car that warrant higher fuel flow it's a waste of money..There's nothing wrong with stock AC Delco pumps , there are many Vettes with 25 year old and older stock pumps still working as they should....

AC Delco pumps are about $50 on Ebay

Any stock pump already pumps more than you need

Thanks for the info. I am assuming that's what is wrong because when I go on long drives it starts to seem like a starving for fuel. If I shut it off in and start up a few minutes later it's sputters then runs like it's starving. If I open the gas cap it sucks in air like it is sealed. I tried a new cap already.

You may want to have a look at your evap system.
Here is some info from my 86 service manual. Your year will be plumbed slightly different to canister.
