I had this happen when my coolant temp sensor's connector melted against the water pump. When watching the coolant temp readout, the number would go crazy every time the car bucked. The car was rapidly switching its hypothesis from "engine temp is below freezing" to "engine temp is warmed up". One of the few problems the car had that I wasn't the root cause of.
This is hardly likely though, there's a thousand things to be ruled out using various measurements.
Yes it's cold starts fine and runs smooth as glass idle or otherwise, it does sound like the battery is weal tho, especially after warmed up
So when the car is warm, does it idle smooth?
Also, when warm, does it restart smooth?
Does it only misfire while moving at speed?
Is the misfire more upon accleration, or when you give it gas?

Icm?
Might it be the ICM (Ignition Control (Coil) module)?
Likely the ICM is screwed to a heat sink which is bolted to the passenger side head front side.
If loose and/or the heat sink paste has degraded or the ICM has gone bad, it might produce the symptome your getting.
FYI, Autozone has a tester for the ICMs.
On our 94, it just 'went', and the car wouldn't start, but after installing a new one, performance was improved and a 2k rpm hessistation went away.
BTW, only use ACDelco, have read others having problems with other brands. Radio shack sells heat sink paste which MUST be used (NOT the same as 'dielectric grease').
However, I had a some instances of this behavior for about a month or so prior to my fuel pump going out completely. This after replacing coil and icm. But mine would be more random events. No issues since the new pump went in.
