On an OBDI Car, I tried to pull the codes (Cuz the car idles WAY high) and all it does is stay on solid, it won't flash codes. Anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking replace the ECM and EEPROM as well as the IAC Valve (just for good measure). Any ideas are appreciated. TIA.
Re: SES Light stays on Solid won't flash codes... (TIMSPEED)
Im not sure what to suggest since I think some OBD1 cars cannot diagnosed by jumping the aldl connector.I may be wrong though since I always though we could, but seen a car or two that just wouldnt work.DId you jump the pins in the right place?
It would help if you could hook up a scanner and possibly see whats wrong.
I would try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and reset the ecm and gofrom there.
Possibly the ecm is going bad or theres a bad ground somewhere, such as a bellhousing wire or etc.
Sorry not much more help. Its expensive to throw parts at the car and never know for sure what it may be.
:)

It's actually on a 93 Lumina 3.1 V6 MPFI. BUUUT, it's an OBDI system (all basically the same) I suspect a faulty ECM also, because the car runs absolutely fine, it's just the idle that's messed up. (I assume it's got problems in the Idle circuit as well as Diagnostic circuit.)
