Default Brake light question

When I depress the brake pedal only the third brake light in the middle gets bright. The 4 other tail lights don't come on when the brake is pressed. I looked underneath the brake pedal and saw two brake light switches. One of the switches was plugged in and the other brake light switch that's probably for the tail lights didn't have an electrical plug into it. It seems like the switch was put in for the tail lights but it was never connected. This is strange. I bought the car a few months ago and I've already been stopped once for this. Any suggestions on how I could get my tail-brake lights to work? I don't want anybody to run into my car. I have a '93 LT1. Thanks.

See if you can find the connection that fits into that socket and connect it, or you just may need to replace you tail light bulbs.

Yes, there are two switches on the brake pedal. One for the high brake light and one for the lower side brake lights. If one switch is unplugged, look for an unplugged socket nearby and plug it into the pedal switch. Check your 20A stop/hazard fuse and check your side stoplights when you plug them back in.

Also, be careful if you do find the plug and plug it in. Someone may have unplugged it to solve another problem. ie shorting wires, blowing fuses, and such. You could be lucky and someone replaced the switch and just forgot to plug it in. Just be careful.
