Default Headlight

Hello
I own a 1984 Corvette. I changed the gear in the headlight motor. The light goes up and down BUT, when I shut the headlight it does not go all the way closed. I turn the adjusting **** and make the headlight close. Then turn the lights on and off and it does not close. Any ideas.

Thank you,
Joe

Was it closing properly before you changed the gear?. When you changed the gear did you remove the armature from the bottom half of the casing?? Is it running up against the stop bolt??

No it was not working before I fixed it. The motor was turning but the headlight was not moving. All I did was take the gear cover off. Put a brass gear in wear the nylon one was and close everything up. I will say that the GEAR was much harder to install than the one in the video I watched. It seemed like the insulators were too big.

This is a pic of my 84 motor, by insulators do you mean the rubber inserts in your brass gear?? Disregard the white circle, it was for another problem..

Sorry the car is an 84 but according to Adair Corvette it is a 1988 motor. Evidently both motors were changed out. Sorry for being unclear.

That is quite possible, BUT it is identical to my 84 motor, only in worse shape..
