blower motor relay wiring 1985
for a 86.
Pin A is a Red wire.fusible link hot all the time.
Pin B Dark Blue wire comes from the Blower resistor.
Pin C Black wire is Ground
Pin D Brown wire comes from Blower switch Hi contact.
Pin E (may be shown as Pin F in the connector diagram). It's
a Black/Red wire and goes to the Blower motor.
You said you replaced the relay. If you install the old one does it also blow
the fuse?
The only difference for Hi and the other speeds is the normally open relay contacts
close so the fusible link provides the 12 volts to power the Blower motor. In all of the
other speeds the 25 amp AC fuse provides the 12 volts thru the normally closed
relay contacts.
It's possible the Hi speed switch is bad but not likely. If you disconnect the
Brown wire at the relay socket and the fuse blows when you place the
switch in the Hi position then yes something is wrong with the switch.
If the fuse doesn't blow with the brown wire disconnected either you have
the wrong relay or you have a wiring problem.
The schematic in your shop manual should look like this.
Is there a diagram/picture of the relay pin outs on the cover of the relay?

Ok I fixed it!I unplugged the connector to the blower switch and sprayed some contact cleaner on it.I put the old relay back on and it worked. The other relay must have been bad

I tried what you said about unplugging the brown wire ,on mine its orange, and sure enough it didn't blow the fuse.
*Always try to start your own thread, when you want replies and so you do not hijack someone else's thread.
*When researching your question, do it in a Google search first, it will then lead you to more results and links to this forum. You may find your answers this way and not need to post a question.
*When posting, get in the habit of stating the year of your corvette, options, anything relevant to your question.
*Buy a FSM (factory service manual) for the specific year corvette you have, accept no other substitutes.
*Pictures, pictures, pictures.... members want pics!
* Do your best to have a positive attitude and not get personal, too many people insulting each other when the end game is to help each other.
This is just my $.02 worth, you will find that if you've done your due diligence and still can't find an answer, people are more willing to help. For us seasoned corvette owners, whether it's 5 or 45 years worth of experience, we were all new to this at one time or another and it's to our benefit to encourage and help the newbies so the industry and it's support stays strong!
So, start a thread, if you need to, AFTER doing a little research on your own and I'm sure you will get the help you need!!! Good luck 👍
