85 window felt replacement.
Got my new window felt and with the door panel out, I am finding out about the heavy duty staples used originally to attach them to the door panel. Anyone have any secrets to get these out without detroying the brittle plastic door panel? And then what to use instead of staples when replacing the felt? I am thinking small black rivets might be the easiest and safest. Any thoughts?

I cut those thick staples with a Dremel disc and the drilled holes through which to press in SS staples which I bent over with plyers.
It was a bit tedious but came out very well.
BTW, I also used a sandwich of JB Quick & thin Al sheed to repair any cracked panel plastic.
