My 91' vet which has only 16,000 miles on it, has been running rough. It finally stopped running. I had it towed to a local chevy dealer. They tell me that 3 of the injectors went bad and suggest I repair all 8. I guess my question is the after market injectors with labor is $800 less expensive, $1,500.
With original GM parts total price being $2,300.
I sometimes show this car and make the claim it is stock.
So, what do you think of prices and should I go with GM parts or after market? And would aftermarket change the value of car?
The OEM injectors can't deal with the alcohol in the gas - it wasn't in there when they were designed. If you buy new ones, you'll have the same problem again.
Buy a set of Bosch III injectors from Jon at www.fuelinjectorconnection.com They drop an and solve the problem permantently - and in my case helped out the mileage a couple mpg as well.
As for showing the car as "all original" - if you can't drive it to the show, what good is it? Hopefully the oil and filter have been changed, coolant flushed and changed, etc., so I don't see the problem. You can always add the qualifier "except the injectors because of the fuel problems now."

Appreciate any advice.
You can have Jon at Fuel Injection Connection rebuild & flow balance your original injectors for somewhere around $200. www.fuelinjectorconnection.com Call Jon directly and get his current pricing. You can remove the injectors yourself & reinstall them when they are refurbished.
