Engine starting probs. 1985
Hi: It started last year when sometimes it started up in a split second, other times it cranked for about 3 seconds before starting. This year it always takes the three seconds or so to catch. No other clues other than if I stop cranking at say the 2 1/2 second point and try again, I've got the split second start again, for that time only. Injectors? I've changed the plugs. Thanx

A hard start when the engine is warm is usually a sign of leaking injectors. It might be a full pressure issue. Have you put a gauge on it and checked how much pressure there is at start? If so, what's the pressure reading and does it hold steady or bleed down?

I haven't done that, cuz I wouldn't know how, nor do I have a guage. The reason i asked the question was because I was planning to take it to a garage and wanted to maybe estimate what the repair would be. Guessing about $600 - $800. Thanks for trying with the limited information I provided.
