Okat to make a long story short I have tried everything that I have read on the board to burn a chip.
The last thing that I did is read the bin file out of a chip that my car runs on and put it into another memcal. Both memcals have 27c128 eproms. The program loads the eprom without an error and verifies it, when I stick the new memcal in the computer the car runs, but the service engine light is on and I can't link the Diacom up. I am assuming it is running on the base cal from GM.
The car is an 86 and has the 165 computer.
Please help.
Thanks

And your fans come on too, correct? First, did you erase the second chip before you programmed over it? (I know it verified, but I won't even start to tell you some weird things I have gotten PP to do ;) )
Second, what is the second MEMCAL from? On my 90 setup with a V8, I had tried to use a V6 MEMCAL for a while. Turns out that there is some cylinder select on the MEMCAL itself, so I couldn't get the car to run, Diacom to connect, and I just had my fans running with the 'Your engine hate you' light on.
