Just purchased a new A/C compressor to replace the missing compressor on my 1992 Corvette, the new unit came without the manifold on the compressor and sicne I didnt have the original I wasnt able to remove it and install it on the new unit, now I'm wondering where I can find the just the manifold for the new unit.

If you do an Internet search you may find one as I recall people like Vintage air have them. Check old air products under compressor accessories they show several.
what would be the proper name for this component? part #??
I'd say your "manifold" is correct and while you're getting one of those you'll need a gasket for it also. The "manifold" might be difficult because that determines much to do with the compressor application.
It's not unusual for a new to be less the manifold. A salvage yard buy or a WTB in the parts section here might get it done. I believe you might need to limit your search to '92 & '93.
LT Motors switched direction with the hoses coming over the front of the compressor - L98's are over the rear.
Do you have the Main Hose Assembly? That's critical because an R134 setup uses Sealing Washers and the inlet/outlet at the Manifold is flat. R12 (which is what came on your Vette) uses O-rings and the inlet/outlet is recessed. It's either one or the other as neither is interchangeable so I'd get the hoses first, then look for the Manifold.
