ECM Connector problem, I think
I have realized several of my sensor issues share the same ECM connector. On inspection, the tab the holds the connector together on the green plug is broken off. The tab that holds the wires in place, not the ones that hold the connector to the ECM.
with the car running, I can press on the connector and the engine revs up, release and it goes back to normal. If I hold pressure on it, several inputs go wackey and the engine dies (I am monitoring with tuner pro).
Not sure what causes the engine to rev, but I noticed the idle setting goes from 775 to ~3500 rpm and the TPS goes to ~25%.
I think I need a new connector. Anyone know where to get one or how to I can repair?
It's shared by quite a few vehicles that can be found in many salvage yards, I can't see why you couldn't get a new plug and a length of wire from it, then solder in the wires.
I can get one from a yard, just though someone out there would sell them as they are quite common.
