engine died when almost home
I ran the engine codes and got back qa 15 (low coolant temp indicated) and a 43 (engine knock sensor short or open) now this engine is running very very smooth and I do not hear any knocking so i'm not sure what the issue is. We unhooked the battery to reset the error codes and after 2 cranks it came back to life however. can anyone offer some advice as to what is wrong?
While i'm at it, the AC doesn't seem to be working either. I found a retrofit sticker so I recharged the system with refrigerant plus oil and still nothing. when the car starts up I can see the compressor try to turn on but it stops after a few cycles. in the Texas heat AC is a must!
I've been doing some reading and it sounds like the ECU overheating could cause the car to die? It was at night when it died and i don't believe the car got very hot in the engine bay. If it is the ECU, how hard is it to replace them? I feel like it wouldn't be plug and play
