hello all, it has been awhile since i last posted on the forum, but i was working on my headlights the other day and i seem to have put too much pressure on the lights when i was taking it apart to inspect the light motors, which i broke the c clip and the washer(disappeared after the initial broke) and i was wondering if you all might know what size i need to replace it? and where can i get a new one at? thank you all for your time and help.
here is the picture of it, it is the bracket near the **** on the motor:
here is a picture of it closer to see which one time talking about, its where my fingers are at, in the front.
again i would like to thank you all in advance for your time.
you need a .250 type XB external snap-ring I'm quite sure:
Do you have a Grainger close by? Perhaps even some of the Home chains, a machine shop or a Tractor Supply and even some better auto-parts stores. You should have no problem. A basic ring should be .025 thick. A quick glance says it's not that thick.
A 7/32 might be a better fit if the .250 seems large, a 7/32 would be .015 thick and maybe the right choice. The .250 might be an easy find, the 7/32" ?
If W is .018 it's 7/32, if W is .029 it's a .250.
If you have a spark-plug gapping tool check the groove for width, that should be the definitive answer.
Harbor Freight sells an assortment box of snap rings for about $7.00. I think you get about a hundred or so. Your headlights may fall off, but you would still have about 99 extra snap rings.
