Not sure where to go now.......I have a coolant leak under the engine on the right side. It only leaks when the engine has just been turned off, still under pressure and warm. No leak when cold or running....leak is small, about the size of a good pancake once the engine has been stopped. The heater box/suitcase is dry, leak appears to come from the union of the transmission and engine at the bottom of the right side just behind the right front tire. Strange huh?
You can rent a pressure tester and look for the leak when its cold. The TPI is famous for leaking intake. My 86 and 91 were both leaking in the right rear . GL with it
Thanks for all your responses. I'm going to clean the area in the right rear and see if I can see anything. I also need to clean/paint the valve covers so I'm thinking I may take it all apart and do it all at one time. Good thing I'm retired..............
Check the steam line -- the small pipe and rubber hose that goes from the heater hose to the rear of the intake manifold on the passenger side. Mine had a pinhole leak in the bottom that was otherwise invisible. I only found it by accident when i happened to see water leaking in that area. It had been leaking for quite a while, based on the rust on the frame.
One of the heater hoses could be leaking.
The water valve on the heater manifold might be leaking.
