Thinking about getting some for my 1990 coupe. I have borla mufflers, and a gutted main cat. Also thinking about eliminating the precats. I dont know if will have them gutted somehow or maybe get straight pipes. Does it make a difference? I want a little more sound and a little more of a performence out of my car. Any advice?
I have Hooker Super Comps I got from Summit. They are pricey, about $450, but they fit very well, have the emissions parts welded on and are ceramic coated. The bad thing is the rear alternator and AC braces need to be modified to fit.
From what I have been reading the Tpis are a direct bolt on. You have no issues with the Alternator bracket and A/C bracket. Plug changes are a breeze.
Thanks for all the post. I did check the archives and it had some good info ,but I would like to here more. Best prices, performence gains, sound,durability,looks,etc.. Leaning toward the hooker headers but worried about getting it to fit. Is it hard, what has to done?

Re: What are the best headers? (GCadby)
Try JetHot Direct. They had the best price for the Hookers that I found.
As far as the brackets. You have to basically cut the manifold/header mounting end at an angle so that it is more of a fork shape than one that completely surrounds the bolt/stud.
You may also want to consider using locking bolts like Stage8's so that you don't have to relive the hell of re-tightening the bolts. Some of the cylinders are a real b.....ear to get at. I had to take a box wrench and grind the closed end down really thin so that it would fit around the bolt head so I could tighten the bolts furthest back towards the firewall. They are right upagainst the header tubes and there's little room surrounding them to work in.
If you are interested in the Stage8's let me know and I can tell you the lengths you will need.
