Default 92 LT-1 throttle upgrade

Howdy everyone, Im looking to increase power on my LT-1 and I've been looking into the TPIS throttle bodies. I'm seeing 52mm, 58mm and monoblades and a new cold air intake to suite it. The engine is completely stock at the moment so I was wondering just how much benefit these options would add in terms of power and efficiency. If bigger headers or exhaust would help more please tell me but the throttle body seems like an easily upgradeable part that can benefit the car greatly

I read an article that a stock 48mm TB flows 780 cfms with airfoil 820+

In theory that is more than enough air for 500+ci engines. So I'd say no, not worth the investment. 1.6 RR and a spring kit would be much more bang for the buck. LT headers a close second. CAI would open up much more air flow then the TB. Back 8 or so years ago "Horsepower TV" put one on a stock LT1 and picked up ZERO hp.

The stock throttle body will flow more than enough air for a stock motor and for mildly modded motors. As long as the stock TB is in good shape (clean, doesn't stick, etc.) there is nothing really to gain by going to a bigger TB.

A larger TB will be a help when engine displacement is raised (383 or larger), adding a big cam, and headers/exhaust.

A good free-flowing cat-back exhaust on a stock motor will provide a small HP and TQ gain. Add longtube headers, the 1.6 rockers and a good tune will provide a decent gain. Can't hurt adding a cold air intake or even opening up the filter cover.

There has been lots of discussion here over the years regarding the results of adding an airfoil. The consensus by a wide margin is that they are worthless.

Gears, Headers, CAM, Ported heads, are better bang for the buck on LT1/LT4 than intake mods.... You can wait on the intake mods until you've done the other mods....
