Default Transmission torque setting
I'm changing the tranny filter and gasket in my 95 auto.What is the correct torque settings for the transmission bolts ? The FSM says 97 lb. but I keep reading other threads stating 15 to 20 lb.

That would be 97 in-lbs. Divide by 16 to get ft-lbs.

I use 100 and retorque after a few heat cycles. The gasket always compresses and the bolts get loose.

Make that 12 math has always been a challenge for me too.
