Running like a Swiss watch!
We stopped at the Hood sport winery and filled the spaces under the roof with bottles of pinot gris, reisling & rhubarb wine. We stopped at Dosewallips state park to visit friends camped there (and emptied a couple of those bottles) then crossed the Hood canal floating bridge to come back home.
Elwood (our blue '89 convertible) ran like a Neil Diamond song all day. I couldn't be happier.
He reported one injector with extremely low resistance and another couple with marginal ohm readings. Then he told me he would need $1.000 for new injectors -plus four hours labor at $175/hour to change them.
I came to this forum and read up on injectors and their problems. I went back to the mechanic's to try to start it and drive it home. It wouldn't start.
Armed with the knowledge from this forum, I asked him to pop off the electrical plug from the bad injector. He did, it started right up and I peeled out of his shop on seven injectors.
I bought a set of rebuilt injectors from Jon at FIC. They sat on the seat for a year until I figured out my son was likely not going to change them for me. My handyman and I changed out the injectors in about six hours actual work. More than that if you include the futzing around, one false start and a lot of thinking about what to do next.
It started right up after the change and the rest is history! I just wanted to throw a little good news in amongst the multiple problems guys are having with their C4's/ There is light at the end of the tunnel.
