I had an injector problem and had to replace them. Once replaced the engine ran good but it would not idle down. When cranked it goes up to around 1500 - 1800 then idles back to around 1000. Does anyone have a solution?
It was idling normal before I replaced the injectors. I cannot find a vacuum leak. I did have to unplug the idle control valve when I was replacing the injectors.
Where did you get the injectors from? If it is from some internet source that nobody knows, it is possible they got a bad or mismatched set. Are you SURE you checked for vacuum leaks? If so check one more time. Use a propane torch on your hoses. One might be cracked.
If all you did was replace injectors they could be undersized. High idle is vacuum leak, or a lean condition. Buy a cable here: http://www.reddevilriver.com/aldl.html
This will allow you to datalog the vehicle and observe what's going on. Look at BLM (block learn memory) counts. 128 is perfect, and 160 is lean, and 108 is rich. You can identify if you have a lean condition. Sorry, but a catalog store is not a place to buy injectors unless you know exactly what you're getting. You could borrow a good scanner and make a similar observation also. I've had nothing but trouble dealing with cars that have used these Standard products injectors.
Spray some carb cleaner or brake cleaner around the injectors and listen for a stumble, if you are getting a stumble that is the engine trying to burn the carb cleaner getting in around the injectors.
Could be the injectors are the wrong size for the holes or the donuts on the bottom of the injectors are broken letting air suck in (vac leak).
