Default C4 Fuel Purge System EECS

I have been having a stumbling problem upon acceleration. In going over the car, I discovered that the idiot before me has reconfigured the hoses on the purge canister and solenoid. The two lines running from the solenoid are not connected and the hose at the bottom of the canister is not connected, and there is a hose that Y's off just before the valve is not connected. I have also discovered that the canister has absolutely no charcoal in it. I need some pictures of the correct configuration or schematic...or even written instructions. The Haynes and shop manual are insufficient.....I am also in search of a direct replacement solenoid.

How about both? You didn't state a year (there are year-to-year differences), but here's the info for my '86:

I've got a bunch of pictures of my canister setup so I'm pretty sure I did an article around here somewhere that shows all the hose connections.

I think the only "charcoal" in the canister is a thin round filter. IIRC, it was replaceable but not a regular maintenance item.

How do you replace the filter in the canister? The canister is sealed. I have an 85 that has gas fumes at the cap in hot weather. Maybe problem witth EECS. I will be doing some troubleshooting this weekend.
