I tried the H11's, and they do not fit in my 1996 C4. The base of the H11 bulb is too wide to fit through the hole for the 896 bulb. Oh well. Now, I am going to try some cheapo "xenon" 894s.

The 894's fit just fine. 4200 color, 37.5 W, a good match for Silverstar Ultras.

Bought the hid kit from a forum sponsor. Had a heck of a time getting the hid bulbs into the socket. It's almost like the bulbs are too long. Ended up with the 885 bulbs. I have a 93 where the bulbs go in from the bottom after removing the little hatch. Am I the only one that finds this a pain and almost impossible to do.

I lubricated the rubber thing on the bulb, it went in easy.

Has anyone on the forum used H11s in place of the 896? If so, how did they fit/work?
they don't fit I tried
