Default LT4 accelerator linkage ???

My left foot and leg is growing alarmingly as the pressure to apply the accelerator pedal seems excessive, I have lubricated the visible return spring however it seems unnecessarily tensioned.
I have a 1996 c4 lt4, I am an Aussie living and touring the US of A and some how got addicted to a C4.
I sent a c6 z06 home last year and it is now converted to Right hand drive.
I know there are some c4 guru's out there so I need a bit of help.
The car is a bit of a disappointment performance wise and I will cam, headers, and possibly crown wheel an pinion it.
I use it for vast distance cruising and auto x.

I would suggest removing the cable from the throttle body to determine where the resistance is coming from. If the cable freely moves when not connected to the throttle body, then check the throttle body shaft operation, perhaps it is bent or something causing the resistance.

Also check the operation of the pedal itself.

Good luck......wonder what is is like to drive a right hand drive vehicle???

Left foot? You are pressing on the firewall! No wonder you are disapointed with performance!

Kidding of course. Check the ASR assembly for free operation. The resistance could be the ASR binding, the cable between the foot feed and the ASR unit, the cable from the ASR to the throttle body, or as otherwise suggested, the throttlebody shaft itself. My guess would be a problem with the ASR assembly. Regardless of which foot you use, you definitely want to track down the problem and fix it. The plastic mount/pivot for the gas pedal is a known weak point and replacements are hard to find.

Thanks bob
Yep left foot was a blunder but thanks for the response which was good common sense and I will investigate, the throttle body seems the problem .

I guess we are even. Rather than show my ignorance, I had to Google "Crown Wheel". "Crown Wheel and Pinion" here in the States would be "ring and pinion". Forum member JimGnitecki just "crown wheel and pinioned" his 1992 LT1 convertible with auto transmission and has been quite pleased with the added "spirit".
