Block Drain Plug
I am trying to clean out my coolant system completely and I found in Search that one block drain is the knock sensor and the drivers is just a plug or maybe have a hose connected. Where on the Drivers is this located? Is it right above the oil pan and between the motor mount and the oil filter? Does it just look like a bolt like maybe 3/8"? I am used to plumbing plugs having a square top.

Removing the knock sensor serves as a block drain. If you have the "oil cooler", you can remove the hose where it connects to the block. Otherwise there should be a bolt or a recessed hex plug just forward of the oil filter and just above the oil pan. It might be a PITA to remove if it's been in there for many years.

Are both the knock sensor and drain plug in the same basic locations opposite each other? The knock sensor ceramic pretty well disintegrated so I will have to replace it anyway. I dont want to mess with it anymore til I get a new one in my hand.

Yes , the knock sensor and the drivers side plug are in the same spot on both sides..Make sure your connector plug is in good shape, when I tried to snap mine off the sensor it fell apart in my hand...I got a new one from EFI Connections for about $8.00....WW.
