I've got the steering wheel off but it looks like I need to remove the ignition to remove the plastic trim??? Would someone be so kind to tell me the steps get to the wiper switch? I have the dreaded 'no right turn' and 'no high beams' symptoms and I think I'll need to replace the wiper switch but I can't clearly see how to get to it and really don't want to remove the ignition or anything else if I don't have to. I plan on doing a write up of this to help others but I need help myself right now
Here's where I'm at: (i know I'll need to unscrew the tilt lever at some point)
You need a column lock plate tool like this http://compare.ebay.com/like/380659443107?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar
It pushes the lock plate down so the snap ring can be removed/installed. Release the tool & remove the lock plate.
So I won't even need to remove the black trim around the column will I? I should be able to remove the lock plate, clock spring and turn signal switch and then I will be able to access the wiper switch?
