... I had to know ... so I cut one in half ... This is what you're dealing with inside the groove where the slotted disc spins ... one of the micro slotted covers was inadvertently cut away when the hacksaw passed by , but that's a good thing ... it lets us all see the sensor itself which is just over 1/8th inch in diameter ... the very tiny slashes that its forced to peek through are likely meant to help resolution ... but as you can see ... it wouldn't take much dust or debris to blind the optics ... this was from a later pin drive unit ... I was hoping to discover a way to clean the lens of the sensor itself but the metal slit blinders prevent that ..........
