whats the strongest non greaseable u joint for my 86--got lots of power and run the quarter mile on occasion. i think spicers are highly rated---best place to buy.
I have SPICER joints in the half shafts of my 84 drag car. I bought the whole kit from Denny's Driveshaft... all new joints, bolts and straps. I have a little over 50 passes on them and 2500 street miles this year without failure... I will make 2 more race this season (ends in Oct) with the car so that should put me at or just over 60 passes on the season, plus however many more miles I drive it on the street.
I also have MOOG joints in the drive shaft - I wanted SPICER but had to order them and I needed to race the next day. MOOG was the best I could get local. 40+ passes and they are holding up fine.
BTW my 84 is not a typical "street car" even thou I do drive it on the street. It run low 9's in the 1/4 mile and 1.27 60fts on stock IRS.
I don't know what your idea of "lots of power" is but Spicer is about as good of a joint as your going to get with MOOG right behind.
The problem with breaking u-joints in a C4 Corvette while drag racing is a problem of rear suspension and half shaft geometry - Not the joint strength.

I also bought the whole Spicer Solid U-Joint kit from Denny's Driveshaft. Great price and its nice to have new bolts and caps. If you are going to do the change you may as well do it right. Gives you peace of mind.
