ATF leak 84
Theres a small leak around the vss in my 84 Corvette. Im pretty sure the guy who took out the vss bent the small aluminum cup that sits in the transmission case and holds the vss motor.
So, my questions are:
1. Apply more rtv or take it out and get one thats not bent up at all.
2. if its leaking from there and that sits in the tailshaft, does it mean the rear seal is leaking in the AT?

There should be ATF in the tailshaft to lubricate the VSS gears.
The cup is the cover for the governor. You can buy a new governor cover. I cracked mine when I pried it off. I put Aviation Permatex on my cover to seal it.
The VSS is a separate unit. It has an O-ring seal.

The cup is the cover for the governor. You can buy a new governor cover. I cracked mine when I pried it off. I put Aviation Permatex on my cover to seal it.
