Default Pushrod Alignment Concerns

I need some help on this one.

I put up a similar post on the Engine Mod board about a pushrod alignment problem using Brodix -12 15 degree heads, Jesel shaft rockers with offset intakes and centered exhausts and Isky offset roller lifters.

Jesel and Brodix say we have the correct parts for the application, but the pushrods, especially the exhaust, are not perpendicular. From eye-balling them, some are off as much as 20 degrees and Jesel says 3 degrees (three) is the max.

MONTY graciously posted some of the pictures we took of the misalignment on his website:

0002.jpg 0005.jpg 0006.jpg and .0009.jpg

We have a total of 19 pic I can send to anyone who may be able to help with this one.

Thanks,

Jake

I'd start playing with the guide plates! you may even have to have your own made, or grind a little on one side of them. While the studs are loose, can you make it line up at all? Worst case would be you need an offset rocker, or it's in the wrong place.

Good luck

This setup does not use guideplates and we're currently using .150 offset lifters on the intakes and centered on the exhaust, which is what Jesel and Brodix both say the heads call for. The intake rockers are offset too and the combination of both lifters and rocker arms provides for the wider intake port spacing.

Rockers can't be installed in the wrong location. They only bolt to the shaft in one position. The width of the intake and exhaust rockers is different, with the intakes being much wider, so there's no way they can be incorrectly mounted to the shaft.

Sent Jesel and Brodix the pics; hope to hear from them later today.

I'm still working on it.
