Default Car won't start...need help!

My 91' ZR1 won't start! I think it may be the clutch pedal safety switch thingy. Has anyone here had one of these gone bad? What does it look like and how do I bypass it?

With your head in the footwell, you can look up and see the clutch pedal and the safety switch. The safety switch has 2 wires coming out of it that plugs into a connector . You can unplug the connector and jump the 2 pins on the wiring harness connector to defeat the clutch switch. If no start, you may have VATS problem. First try your spare ign key as its pellet contacts won't be as worn as your everyday key. You should be able to hear the start enable relay behind the center of the dash click when you attempt a crank if VATS is ok. If not, then find the wires from the ign sw, pellet contacts (on my 87 they come out the steering column by the floor and there is a 2 pin connector under the carpet). Unplug the connector and with the key in the ign, measure the ohms on the wires from the column, it should be the same as the pellet. If over 10k ohms, you need to replace the ign sw. Until you can schedule an ign sw install, you can clip a fixed resistor across the 2 wires going over to the passenger side and defeat VATS. Don't do this for long though because 99% of car thefts are done by bashing the column and jumping the ign. Good luck.
