I have a slight but noticeable vibration. Only happens on a hot restart. And then only when i get her up to speed(55) When i get it up to 50 or 55 i feel this vibration, yesterday when it happened i shifted her into neutral and still felt it. I would think if i got it more often it might be u joints? I do have a u joint going bad,get a clunk going into 2nd. Car always starts right up and plenty of power no miss or hesitation. Parts just replaced, brakes,1 caliper and all hoses, map sensor, thermostat( that made it 10 degree cooler running)PVC valve and the horse shoe shaped hose that was petrified! EGR and solonoid. I did check all wheel lugs and looked to see if i had knocked off any wheel weights. Injectors were replaced a few months ago. Also after i get this studder it will ease up or go away after i drive it a mile or 2. Thanks as usual guys,Dave
Didn't see 'alignment' in any of your fixes....... moving at speed in idle, and the vibration is still evident, should eliminate engine/drive train as a source. The wheel weights may all be in place, but a wheel still could be out-of-balance.
Will be interesting to see if the vibration is still there after the u-joints are replace.
Thanks for the come back Don,i had it alligned this year when i got new tires. It seems to only happen when its been driven some. Then it dosent last long and goes away? You can feel and see the vibration. If its drive train temp shouldnt make it happen right? Thanks again Dave
Anything intermittent is always a problem...... temp shouldn't be
involved. Can you sense if the vibration is coming from the front or rear? If from the rear, some have solved their vibration problem by adjust muffler clamps.
The following link concerns C4 vibrations. When you
have some time, scan through the threads.... maybe something will help:
(not a very useful link..... what came up when searching 'vibration')
I had a similar problem, replaced a rear hub, u-joints, etc. Finally a buddy of mine has a truck tire place he told me let him look at it. He took it in his shop and brought it back fixed, it seems I let the car sit to long and the tires were getting flat spots in them.
If your car is sitting for any significant time it might be your tires are starting to get spots like mine.
Best of luck finding it, these issues can be a beast.
.......... I let the car sit to long and the tires were getting flat spots .....
beerme (great id), I was always under the impression that flat spots
would eventually correct themselves with heat and pressure. Learned
something new.
Tires are almost new and car is driven 4 or 5 times a week. I cant help but think it may be engine miss. It hasnt happened since the weather has cooled off? But when it did happen i put here out of gear and i still got vibration/studder. Will a rear bearing only act up when its heated up? It seems to be coming from under me towards rear of car. But it does go away after driving it some. No codes coming up,since the egr code 33? cant remember the # but i changed it out and its been fine. Funny thing is thats the 1st time all this started. Im glad rock fish season is in,that way i take a break and think about something else.
