FAST EZ-EFI System

Has anyone tried the EZ-EFI kit from FAST? I'm considering it for my 85 but have some concerns. I spoke with their tech line and the rep said that if I install this on my car that I will lose all functionality in my gauges. Not sure of any way around this. Anyone have experience with this kit or something like it? I am not a tuner by any means, that's why I was looking at the self tuning system.

The tech line person is blowing smoke. Your gauges will work except for your mpg readout. I have an Accel dfi running my 84 and everything else works. My original ecm is in a cabinet in the garage.

the gauges each have their own sensor, so they are independent of the ECM. However, the vehicle speed sensor reports to the dash cluster, which converts the signal, then sends it to the ECM. BTW, the cluster also controls the cruise control. this info is from the FSM. I'm looking at converting to analog gauges, and this is what i found. i can't speak for the mpg readout, though.

Only '89 and earlier.
'90+ VSS signal goes to the ECM/ PCM then to the speedo

Don't forget the EZ-efi by Fast does not control timing which means ditching your current distributor and going with mechanical/vacuum advance.

I believe the EZ 2.0 does control timing however there are other reasons to reconsider. Search a comment I made on 2.0 and someone commented.

I would go dynamicefi/portfuel EFI. And consider another intake if you have mods.
