Default c4 antena problem

I have the strangest problem with my 88,I replaced the antenna with the Corvette America's antenna repair kit, After jacking up the rear and removing the left rear
tire and inner fender well cover, I got the old antenna out. And making sure that the motor was working properly. I removed the old and broken nylon antenna
cord. replacing it by turning on the ignition and letting the motor draw the antenna cord into its housing. I put it all back together. Now when I turn the ignition on the
antenna retracts, and when I turn the ignition off shutting the car off , the antenna
comes up. Just the opposite of how it's supposed to work. I was wondering if anybody else ever had this problem on a c4 after replacing the antenna, and if so
what did they do to fix the problem. It has me totally perplexed . any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you rayinpa "":

There are three wires that route from the relay to the antenna assembly (UP, DOWN, and neutral) If you cut wires to get the antenna out, you could have later spliced them together incorrectly. If you unplugged the antenna connector at the relay inside the car, you just might have (with some difficulty) pushed it back in backwards.
There are also switches inside the assembly, that can get out of whack when the housing is opened and the motor disturbed. I think these are only to limit motor actuation at end of travel, but if the other items mentioned don't ring a bell, the switches might be worth a look. Good Luck.

Hi Rich. Thank you for your input and reply to my problem. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, I was very busy with some remodeling work around
my house. Today I finally got out side to try to get back to my antenna problem.
I checked switches again and the pins you mentioned, I couldn't find any problem
with them, I still have the same problem, antenna goes up when ti ignition is off,
and down when the ignition is on, Strange, next I'm going to check the relay and connector. It occurred to me that when I was replacing hatch lock a couple years
ago I might have switched the wires I'm not sure ? after that I'm going to ask the vendor If they have had this situation before?? .again I want to thank you for trying to help me, I sure appreciate it. When I finally find out what the problem is
I'll drop you a note . Take Care rayinpa

Not sure, but this might work.

Turn on stereo and wait for antenna to finish cycle

Unplug antenna from relay

Turn off stereo

Plug antenna back into relay
