after i get it cranked up itll start goin then after it hits about 40mph the gas pedal goes all the way to the floor it stops getting gas and it slows down and shuts off then it wont start again until about 24 hours later. Then it does the same thing. and now it wont even turn over Ill turn the key and itll sound like its going to start for a second or two then it just clicks very loudly. If anyone has any idea on whats going on let me know.
You are describing a BUNCH of different problems....
dying at speed....WOT. That starts off sounding like plugged cats, but then you go on to say it will not restart for 24 hrs...THAT sounds like fuel filter.
THEN you say it clicks when you turn the key or "tries" to start but...
what exactly does that mean? A dead battery? or the starter is not able to turn the engine over?
or the starter just clicks and nothing else happens?
you MUST be clear on the description of the events, and symptoms.
Cranking means the starter IS turning he engine over
c licking....self explanatory
bogging.....giving it lots of throttle with no increase in rpm or pulling power.
So, whats it gonna be? whats been described so far indicates a car with a clogged fuel filter, clogged cats and a dead battery!
its got a new fuel filter. the engine will not start. the battery is not dead.but im relating that to the fact that its been sitting. the main problem is the fact that when i can get it started and running it goes for a few minutes stops getting gas and dies

I have a 1990 also...question.....when it shuts down is it almost or up to heat? On mine it turned out to be the infamous Multec injectors. If they have seen fuel injector cleaner (that was my case) and the ethanol that will do them in also. Cold starts okay and once it starts to heat up mine died. IF you do still have the Multecs; do a ohm check of the injectors cold and hot. Cold they should be 16.5 ohms +/- .5. If you have some there and some lower its time for a injector swap. I used the rebuilds from Jon at FIC as many on this forum have and no problems for the last several years.
This is one possibility to your problem. Note ohm check on FIC Bosch 3 (22#) are 14.5 +/- .5 cold.

Check your fuel pressure also. The fuel pump is actually easy to change if that turns out to be your problem. The original injectors are garbage. I have a 90 as well, and I have replaced a ton of original stuff. Hang in there.
Clicking starter (it's actually the solenoid) is a symptom of a low battery or bad battery cable connection. Don't forget that the battery cables have TWO ends and BOTH need to be tight.
I'd start with fuel first doing a leak down test, and go from there. Fuel pump, and or possibly injectors. IMHO, if the 1990 injectors are stock they should be replaced as general service, and at least one thing is eliminated.
any recomendations for fuel injectors? this is my first corvette so i have no idea.everything was fine until i joined the military and it sat for so long

Check FIC (Fuel Injector Connection). Go with the Bosch 3 rebuilds and flow matched (22#).
Phone 770-888-1662 and ask for Jon. Great guy to work with and MANY of the Forum members use his services plus prices are very reasonable.
Have them in my 1990 for several years without a problem.
