Default Injectors??

I have a 96 LT4 that is acting odd. In city driving at a steady throttle in second or third gear there is a very pronounced surging/bucking happening! It's almost as if I am slightly moving the throttle back and forth, but, I am holding a steady throttle. When I mash the throttle there is no hesitation at all and it runs exactly as it should! I was told the injectors are causing this(by an injector company) and would like the opinion of the forum experts before I just start throwing money at it!!!! Thanks for any help!!

Put a gauge on it and see if it holds pressure at the rail, and ohm each injector and record results. Most likely it will confirm they're right.

If you decide to replace the injectors, IM me and I'll provide you with a company which tests, cleans, and rebuilds them for @$18 each.
They even provide you with a before and after performance test for each injector. Sent all of mine to them a few years back (all were able to be rebuilt) and I've not had a single problem with them. I currently have about 15K miles on her since I've had them rebuilt.

Just got done with the pressure and ohm test. 42psi at prime,38psi while running! Injector resistance 1-16.0, 2-14.0, 3-16.0, 4-14.1, 5-15.4, 6-14.4, 7-15.3, 8-14.5! just to clarify the injector company stated mine were probably dirty, not bad.

What tranny do you have......a M6 or an A4?

If you have an automatic tranny.......do you have a performance torque converter?

Also.....at what MPH and at what RPMs is this surging occurring?

I experienced this with my '96 LT4, it was a couple of spark plug wires. One was arcing through the spark plug boot directly to the head (ground), the others were arcing between each other and ground.

Close the garage door (or wait until night) and look under the hood for sparks from the wires. Sometimes a squirt bottle of water will help you find these.

Reminder - '96 LT4 = manual transmission. If it were another year I'd ask that question also.

Unless he had the engine installed as a replacement or upgrade.

Nothing in what he posted stated the engine was original to the car.

I mean.....yeah, I'm a B-body guy.....but give me a little credit (LOL) ....
