AC/Heater Control

My 89 C4 base Coupe's AC/Heater panel display will not light up when lights are on... Is replacing panel only option?

No, you can replace the lamps. I replaced mine in my '87 (C68) with JKL 37 bulbs which are T1.75 14V .09A sub mini wedge bulbs, which required removal of the control head from the car, then removal of the faceplate from the housing. All of those parts are easy to disassemble. The bulbs are in small "twist-in" sockets on the back of the board.

i have an 87 Z52 with the manual heat/ac controls
when i turn the fan setting to maximum it turns the heat/ac off
what is the cause of this
