I purchased the Energy Suspension 84-95 kit (Jegs has it for $175). The reason why they don't include 96 is that the 96 rear control rods (from the body to the knuckles) have different bushings. This kit includes everything except the swaybar bushings.
So far I replaced every bushing in the rear except the control rods. I don't notice much increase in noise/vibration/harshness, my wife didn't notice any difference (important!). The handling is improved. You have Z51, so the front lower a-arms already have a harder rubber bushing. Now that I have the Hal adjustable shocks, the ride is better compared to having the Z51 Bilstein. Next winter I'll do the front bushings.
I have seen the full urenthene kits but I don't need that quite yet.
I just found an MAD catalog and they have a "Rear Strut Rod Bushing Kit" for my year. I am a little confused on the name. The factory manual calls them Control Rods. C4s don't have struts. We have shocks. Anybody just get the Control arm/rod bushings only?
...Anybody just get the Control arm/rod bushings only?
I'm pretty sure it's a typo. If you want to replace the control rod bushings you have to convert to the 84-95 control rods (the aluminum ones), the 96 control rods are composite and there's no bushings available for them (yet?).
