I just got my accel dfi set up wired up .It will start and run but am having trouble with it from there. I have a 383 with trick flow twisted wedge heads-1.5 rollor rockers-lunati cam503/510-lingenfelter manifold with 1000 cfm throttle body and 50
# injectors, and have a s-trin to install when I get this running correctly.Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks
It will be hard to get a good idle with 50# injectors...if u search around the net you will find a pdf file on dfi tuning...i might have it somewhere I'll look later for you...
thanks for the info .I all ready have some stuff from http://www.cruzinperformance.com and from home.earthlink.net/~micfly/_private/DFI_EMIC.htm
these are what I have used to get this far.I did find out that my timming was off by 12 deg. I was at 8 deg. after not 4 deg, before.....My bad..
It is idling ok......a bit fast but i have to work with it some more.
Thanks for the help though.
yep ! that and I also have the knock sensor kit installed.
The only thing I need to finish is the tcc control . No big deal though it's just a relay. I will say though that this set up might take some time to do.But it will be worth it.
Be CAREFUL with those injectors! I fired up a similar combo last year and I too didnt really know anything about DFI, I had 48lb injectors and they were wayyy to much for my combo pre-blower. I washed out my rings and thined out my oil enough to spin a few bearings and I must have hydro locked at one point because I bent a rod too.
Anyways, check for vac. leaks for your fast idle problem.
And while you are getting it going, make sure to check all your plugs freq. to make sure they are firing. and smell your oil to make sure it smells like oil, not gas. my oil smelled like a sunoco station..
