Wiper Control

My wipers have a mind of their own on my '85 coupe. I move the button to intermittent and sometimes it does what its supposed to and sometimes it operates in the slow always on. Sometimes it starts right and then goes all the time, then goes back to intermittent. At the times it goes to slow always on, it will not turn off when I move the switch to off.

I did take the switch apart and cleaned and lubed the contacts with dielectric grease when it stopped working completely a year or so ago. Is the switch shot or the circuit board on the motor going south?

Mine does the same stuff even with an new wiper motor.I didn't replace the cover though.Does your washer pump work because mine doesn't and its new too?

Washer doesnt work but I havent investigated why.

Sounds like the circuitry in the motor cover is done. The non-funtioning washer is a big clue to that.

This is the circuit for the older C4, most if not all problems with the functions of the wiper and washer are caused by problems with the circuit board..
