Whats up!! Double Clutch here again with what seems to be never ending questions!! My buddy tells me that raising the fuel pressure at the regulater side is only temp. because that the computer will learn the change in presure, and will only bring back down again:confused:.... whats your take on this? any body, please reply. I have a 91 L98, which has a asap system, no map system. It makes sence to me but would like more feed back, hopefully from a pro in this field. Mahalo!!
This is true for the later LT1/4 Vettes with SFI (94-96). While I don't own an L98, it's my understanding an AFPR can help fine tune your Vette's A/F ratio.
The computer will try to compensate in closed loop mode (warmed up, idle or cruise, part throttle driving, etc) and final fuel burned will be the same.
The computer will not compensate at WOT or in open loop mode.
Extra fuel will therefore be delivered at WOT. The problem is that if you jack the snot out of the FP, the computer might range out and not be able to compensate as much as it should be able to.
I am unfamiliar with an 'asap' system but I believe that all FI units use methods of open and closed loop control.
